In the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan, on the basis of Osh State University (OshSU), the III Forum of University Rectors of Kyrgyzstan and Russia was held, organized to discuss key areas of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the educational and scientific spheres, issues of joint training of personnel and integration of the education systems of the two allied states within the framework of development Eurasian integration and the creation of a unified educational process of the EAEU.
A landmark event was the signing, in the presence of the leaders of Russia and Kyrgyzstan, by the rector of Moscow State University, Academician V. Sadovnichy, and the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, D. Kendirbaeva, of a protocol of intent to create a branch of Moscow State University in the fourth most populous city of Kyrgyzstan, Karakol. It is difficult to imagine a better event that marks the prospects of the forum format and the fact that Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the field of higher education is moving along an upward trajectory.
The leading role in the development of Kyrgyz-Russian educational cooperation has been played by the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University for 30 years. the first President of the Russian Federation B. Yeltsin (KRSU) – is a dual-subordinate university, the student population there is 9 thousand people, of which 20% receive higher education at the expense of the budget of the Russian Federation. The implementation of joint projects of KRSU is carried out with Russian organizations in the field of education in accordance with 83 cooperation agreements.
