10 april 2023

Kyrgyzstanis, among citizens of 43 countries, took part in the «Total Dictation». One of the goals of this educational event, which took place on April 8, was the intention of the organizers to unite everyone who knows how or wants to write and speak Russian. The text for the dictation, written by Russian writer Vasily Avchenko, is dedicated to the traveler, writer, and researcher of the Far East Vladimir Arsenyev.

In Bishkek, connoisseurs of the Russian language gathered at four sites, three of which were organized at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, one at a school «Gazprom». The total number of participants will be known after summing up the results of the dictation – the event was held online and offline. By the way, in 2014 in Kyrgyzstan the action took place at 21 sites.

As noted by Damira Moldobaeva, senior lecturer at the Russian Language Department of KRSU, who read the text of the dictation and is not the first time taking part in the action, «Total Dictation» became a holiday of the Russian language, arousing interest among students. It is noteworthy that at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, the level of Russian language proficiency, along with students of the Faculty of Humanities, was checked by future engineers.
