Heroes of the Great Patriotic War were honored in Bishkek

Bishkek - February 25 /KGinform/. Today, near the walls of the National Museum of the Kyrgyz Republic, a touching ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary took place Victories. As a sign of memory and respect for the feat of Soviet soldiers, land was brought to the capital from places of heroic glory – from Khatyn, Brest and Volokolamsk. These sacred handfuls of earth became a symbol of the perseverance, courage and immortal feat of the fighters, among whom were thousands of Kyrgyzstanis who fought against Nazism, reports KRSU.

The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Sergei Vakunov, acting rector of the KRSU Sergei Volkov, representatives of the country's leadership, military of the National Guard, veterans and youth. To the sounds of a military orchestra and the anthems of the two states, the participants honored the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence.
