The book «Russian language in Kyrgyzstan: milestones of the past» was presented in Bishkek

A presentation of a documentary monograph «Russian language in Kyrgyzstan: milestones of the past» took place at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. N. Yeltsin. The book was presented by the author doctor of Historical Sciences, Deputy Director of the Institute of Russian Language named after A. Orusbaev KRSU Olga Sumarokova.

 

The monograph is dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language in the CIS countries and the 30th anniversary of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. It examines the potential of the Russian language as a tool for describing and developing the Kyrgyz language. The publication is based on documentary materials, many of which are published for the first time. The work used two approaches: multifactorial and situational.

 

The book talks about the place of the Russian language in Central Asia, what difficulties the pioneers faced, and also what contribution the Russian intelligentsia made to the formation of Russian-Kyrgyz bilingualism.

 

«History repeats itself, so in order not to make mistakes in the future, you need to know and take into account the experience of the past. This is what the new edition» is dedicated to olga Sumarokova emphasized.

 

The book is part of the author's series by Leonid and Olga Sumarokov «Eurasians creators» («Chingiz Aitmatov Man Universe», «Eurasian Chronicles of N. Przhevalsky», «K. Yudakhin. Uniting Central Asia with the word», «E. Polivanov. Unfinished Linguistic Symphony»).

 

Let us remind you that Slavic universities these are universities created on the basis of intergovernmental agreements between the Russian Federation, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Belarus and Tajikistan. They are institutions subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and carry out their activities simultaneously in accordance with the legislation of the two states that signed the agreement. Currently, a total of about 20 thousand students study at Slavic universities.
