The meeting participants discussed what qualities a real journalist should have, as well as the survival of printed publications in the current realities.

BISHKEK, May 31 – Sputnik. At the Yeltsin KRSU, representatives of the editorial office «of the Rossiyskaya Gazeta» gave a lecture on the topic «Conflict journalism».

The main speakers of the event were the General Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Editorial Office «of the Rossiyskaya Gazeta» Pavel Negoitsa, as well as the Russian international journalist and writer Vladimir Snegirev.

The lecture raised such important issues as the development of journalism in Kyrgyzstan and Russia and the work of the media in the post-truth era.

«I think no one will object to the fact that today no media, be it periodicals or television, can compete with the Internet. But we should not forget that this also gives rise to a lot of problems that are associated primarily with professionalism. Now many people have rushed into journalism. Unfortunately, not everyone understands that this is a profession that requires maximum concentration and accuracy. Unlike bloggers, the journalist works exclusively in the legal field. He not only reports information, but is also responsible for it. After all, any regulation of the Internet by the state causes a violent negative reaction in society, and in any country. Another question that seriously worries me is: how does the uncontrolled and unlimited dissemination of information affect the younger generation?» – Pavel Negoitsa spoke.

In addition, media representatives spoke about their professional activities and answered questions from those present. The meeting participants discussed what qualities a real journalist should have, as well as the survival of printed publications in the current realities.

The issue of the role of the media in covering conflicts was also raised. Journalist Vladimir Snegirev shared his point of view on this matter.

«I will say as a person who covered events in hot spots. In my opinion, and this is my conviction, the task of a journalist in a zone of military conflicts is to do everything so that the fighting ends quickly. All issues can and should be resolved through negotiations», – noted Vladimir Snegirev.

As a result of the meeting «The editors «of the Rossiyskaya Gazeta» and the KRSU signed a memorandum of cooperation. Now KRSU students will be able to undergo internships in the media.
