By decision of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, 2023 was declared the Year of the Russian Language as the language of interethnic communication. In the homeland of Chingiz Aitmatov, they did not wait for the arrival of a landmark year, having already begun preparatory work. Its initiators were the Russian State Humanitarian University (RGGU) and the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. Yeltsin (KRSU).
Having held the Days of Russian Language and Culture at KRSU, two universities outlined directions for strengthening the position of Pushkin’s language, set an example for expanding interaction in the humanitarian sphere, and invited other universities in Kyrgyzstan to join it.
