The KRSU discussed the problems and prospects for the functioning of the Russian language in the CIS
It is necessary to continue active efforts to preserve and promote the Russian language in the CIS countries, the event participants noted.
BISHKEK, October 13 – Sputnik. A round table was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. Yeltsin «Russian language in the CIS space: problems and prospects»(dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language in the CIS and the 30th anniversary of KRSU), the press service of the university reported.
The organizers and partners of the event were the Institute of Russian Language (IRL) of KRSU, the Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language, the Institute of Russian Language of RUDN University, the Department of Russian Language of KRSU under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
More than 80 scientists, representatives of educational and public organizations of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Belarus and foreign countries took part in the round table in face-to-face and remote formats.
