An important meeting for aspiring writers of the republic took place within the walls of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. A group of famous Russian writers - representatives of the United Humanitarian Publishing House of the Russian Federation - visited Bishkek as part of the celebration of World Book Day.
Their names appear on shortlists (preliminary lists of candidates for victory - Ed.): writer and screenwriter Marina Moskvina, writer, journalist and literary critic Afanasy Mamedov, poet Alexander Pravikov, Kabardian poet and writer Zarina Kanukova, novelist Igor Beloded, poet Varvara Zabortseva, novelist and playwright Nadezhda Alekseeva, writer Anna Chukhlebova, author and face of 2024's "Total Dictation" Anna Matveeva.
The students who came to the meeting received practical advice: where, for example, is it better to start a literary career, how to describe the characters, where to find an editor, how to negotiate with publishing houses.
