Why not every bestseller becomes a classic and how to read it correctly, said philologist, head of the department of history and theory of literature of KRSU Bakhtiyar Koichuev.

 

Mark Twain said that a classic book is called one that everyone praises and no one reads. There is a widespread stereotype that any educated person must be familiar with the classics, and even better, not just know, but respect and love them.

 

On the podcast «Between the lines» on Sputnik radio, Bakhtiyar Koichuev explained that according to science, exemplary works that were the best in their genre and in their era are called classics.
