Day of the Manas epic
Students of KRSU College took part in a thematic event dedicated to Epic Day «Manas» — a significant date established for the purpose of preserving, studying and popularizing the national cultural heritage of Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting was chaired by Doctor of Philology, Honored Cultural Worker of the Kyrgyz Republic, President of the International Association of Manasologists, Director of the Center for Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies Talantaly Bakchiev. During the conversation, he told the students about many years of research into the trilogy of epics «Manas», about outstanding storytellers who contributed to the preservation of the work, and also emphasized the importance of caring for the spiritual, historical and cultural values of the Kyrgyz people.
The participants were especially impressed by the live performance and reading of excerpts from the epic «Manas» performed by T. Bakchiev and his student, which allowed those present to feel the strength of the oral tradition and the depth of the folk epic.
The event was a significant and educational experience for the students, broadening their understanding of the richness of Kyrgyz culture and the role of the epic «Manas» in the formation of national identity.
