KRSU presented the experience of drug addiction prevention among young people at the SCO international conference
As part of the International Conference of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization «For a Drug-Free World», KRSU presented experience in preventive work with students and participation in the implementation of anti-drug policy.
One of the key study programss of the university is the systemic prevention of drug addiction and crime among students.
In the 2025-2026 academic year, KRSU held 14 preventive meetings with first and second year students, covering 4,210 people. The events are organized in close cooperation with government bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
24 preventive meetings are planned for the 2026-2027 school year. To date, 12 events have already taken place, in which 3,165 freshmen took part.
Particular attention is paid to improving the legal literacy of students, informing about the consequences of the use and distribution of narcotic drugs, as well as preventing the involvement of young people in illegal activities.
The importance of international cooperation in the field of drug prevention was also emphasized during the conference. KRSU expressed its readiness to develop interaction with universities of the SCO states, exchange successful practices, conduct joint educational events and support youth initiatives.
Participation in the conference made it possible to present the experience of KRSU to the international expert community and outline prospects for further cooperation in the field of drug addiction prevention and the formation of a healthy and safe educational environment.
