The song and dance ensemble of the Central Military District will perform at KRSU

17 september 2025

Tomorrow, September 18, at 17:00, a concert will take place in the Great Assembly Hall of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (44 Kyiv St.) Song and Dance Ensemble of the Central Military District. Admission is free.

The ensemble was formed by order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR in 1939 and has since come a long way creatively. Over more than eight decades, its artists — singers, dancers and musicians — have given over 70 thousand concerts, attracting an audience of more than 10 million spectators.

From its early years, the ensemble became famous for its front-line work: during World War II, it performed on the Volkhov Front, maintaining the morale of soldiers. After the war, the team actively toured throughout the country, performed for factory workers, miners, builders and power engineers, as well as outside the USSR — in Afghanistan and other regions.

The ensemble was the first creative group to perform for the liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident in 1986. Today his repertoire includes original works, patriotic songs, Cossack tunes, folk art, as well as classics and modern pop music.

A special place is occupied by the front-line brigade of the ensemble, created in 2022. She regularly performs for military personnel, holding concerts in the special operation zone, as well as for residents of liberated territories.

The head of the ensemble is Lieutenant Colonel Anton Sholokhov. The group has received numerous awards, including the Grand Prix of the All-Army Review-Competition of Song and Dance Ensembles of the Armed Forces (2015 and 2018).

The concert at KRSU will be a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the rich creative heritage of the ensemble and enjoy the best numbers of its repertoire.
