One of the most important events of 2024 for KRSU, which entered an era of change after its 30th anniversary, was the ratification of the Agreement between Russia and Kyrgyzstan «On new working conditions of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University». Details about this agreement can be read in the section «Our Motherland – Kyrgyzstan». The same section contains material about a significant historical date – the 80th anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad. This event is especially memorable for Kyrgyzstan, which received and housed 16 thousand Leningraders during the war, including more than three and a half thousand children.

An interview with the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Kyrgyzstan, Albert Farkhatovich Zulkharneev, in which he shared his thoughts on the state of the Russian language and Russian-language education in Kyrgyzstan, spoke about the activities of his department and noted, in particular, that the Russian Language Institute named after. A. Orusbaeva (KRSU) is a reliable partner of Russia in Kyrgyzstan, can also be read in the section «Our Motherland – Kyrgyzstan».

An important event for the Institute of Russian Language named after. A. Orusbaev (KRSU) was the opening at the Faculty of Humanities thanks to the assistance of the Institute of Russian Language of the RUDN University named after. P. Lumumba (Moscow) Russian Word Cabinet named after. Chingiz Aitmatov. The section «Bilingualism and dialogue of cultures» includes articles by Kyrgyz scientists reflecting various issues of the theory and practice of bilingualism in Kyrgyzstan: about bilingualism as a need for a multicultural personality in the modern world, about approaches to the formation of an intercultural linguistic personality, about the communicative method as a stimulus for student communication in Russian, about digital literacy, etc.

In the section «Life in the space of Russian language and literature» we remind admirers of Russian literature about the anniversaries of famous people in the republic. The 95th anniversary of the scientist, poet, translator Mikhail Aleksandrovich Rudov, the first editor-in-chief of the magazine «Russian Word in Kyrgyzstan», – is a reason to remember a man who has not been with us for almost ten years, a man who has become a Teacher for many generations of Russian scholars. The scientist’s daughter, M. M. Rudova, provided the editorial board of the magazine with the manuscript of a previously unpublished article by M. A. Rudov on bilingualism in Kyrgyzstan, the ideas of which are still relevant to this day.

Historian, consulting professor of KRSU Valentina Alekseevna Voropaeva celebrated her 85th birthday by preparing for publication a new book about Pushkin «In Boldin, still in Boldin!», dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet. A fragment of one of the chapters of the book is posted in this issue of the magazine.

A new poetry collection «Solar Wind» by the People's Poet of the Kyrgyz Republic Svetlana Georgievna Suslova, the presentation of which took place at the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Bishkek, was published just before the author's 75th birthday. In the «Literary Lounge» we posted information about the hero of the day, the presentation of a new book and new poems specially selected by Svetlana Suslova for our readers. 

The guest of the issue was People's Artist of Kyrgyzstan, sculptor Viktor Arnoldovich Shestopal.

New section «Russian ascetics in the history of culture of Kyrgyzstan» – tribute to scientific and cultural figures who made a significant contribution to the development of Kyrgyzstan. In this issue read a story about the Russian orientalist historian, ethnographer Nikolai Aristov.

The next issue of the magazine «Russian Word in Kyrgyzstan» contains not only information, analytical and research materials, but also educational and methodological materials to help the teacher of Russian language and literature.
