Conference «Current problems of bilingualism and dialogue of cultures»

The Institute of Russian Language of KRSU, with the participation of the Department of Russian Language of the Faculty of Humanities, invites you to participate in the International Scientific Conference «CURRENT PROBLEMS OF BILINGUALISM AND DIALOGUE OF CULTURES (in the aspect of interaction of the Russian language with the languages of Central Asia)», dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of the Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic, Doctor of Philology, Professor A.O. Orusbaeva. The event will take place 17–18 February 2022.

The purpose of the conference will be to organize an expert discussion of the problems of bi- and multilingualism in the context of the linguistic situation that has developed over the years of independent development of the countries of Central Asia; issues of the formation of a bilingual linguistic personality, the interaction of the Russian language with state languages at various levels of the language system, the functioning of contacting languages in various spheres of communication and the discursive practice of citizens and the use of teaching methods of both native and non-native languages.

Within the framework of the planned conference, it is planned to discuss current issues in the following areas:

Section 1. The functioning and interaction of the official and official languages;

Section 2. Formation of bilingual language personality: natural and learning bilingualism;

Section 3. Comparative typological studies;

Section 4. Cognitive studies and linguoculturology;

Section 5. The linguistic aspects of the dialogue of cultures;

Section 6. Methodology of teaching Russian and Kyrgyz languages

Form of participation in the conference

  • a full-time presentation with materials for publication in the conference proceedings collection;
  • delivering a presentation in remote format, providing material for publication in the conference proceedings collection;
  • absentee participation with provision of material for publication in the conference proceedings collection;
  • in-person or remote participation as a listener, participant in discussions.

Note: conference platform – Zoom; connection links will be placed in the conference program. The program will be sent to registered participants in a timely manner.

Financial conditions for participation in the conference

There is no organizational fee. Travel and accommodation expenses – at the expense of the sending party or participants.

Other conditions for participation in the conference

To participate in the conference you must until November 30, 2021 send to email address institut_russ@mail.ru application for participation (cf. Appendix 1).

The conference proceedings will be published in a collection in time for the conference. An article for publication in the collection must be sent to an email address institut_russ@mail.ru until November 30, 2021. For article design requirements, see Appendix 2.

The decision to publish materials is made by the conference organizing committee. The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.
All conference participants will be issued certificates.

Appendix 2. Article design requirements (article manuscript must be submitted by November 30, 2021)

Text editor – MSWord 6.0 and higher. Font –Times New Roman, size – 14 pt. Fields: all 2 cm Paragraph indentation – 1.25 cm Line spacing – one and a half. Pages are not numbered.

First line in capital letters initials and surname of author(s).

After one and a half intervals in capital letters, the title of the work (if the title is several lines, then without hyphenation and line spacing – single).

Author and title are in bold.

The text of materials is printed with mandatory width alignment. References to sources are given in the text in numbers in square brackets [2]. The list of references is printed 1 interval from the main text, font size 12 pt. Sources are arranged in alphabetical order.

The text volume of the article is up to 6 pages of printed text in A4 format.

Abstract – required. The recommended average annotation size is between 250 and 300 printed characters.

The list of references is mandatory and must include all works used by the author.

Information about the author must contain: last name, first name, patronymic, position held, academic degree and place of work.

The text must be carefully proofread and edited by the author.
