15 December 2020 at 11:00 am in the main building of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (room 212, conference hall) a scientific and practical conference will be held «Russian language in Kyrgyzstan: past, present, future». During the conference, its participants – scientists, government and public figures of Kyrgyzstan will discuss the historical experience of promoting the Pushkin language on the land of Manas, its significance in the formation of the scientific, cultural, educational and socio-economic spheres of the republic, and discuss the problems of preserving the Russian-speaking space in the conditions of modern crisis processes.
The main topic will be the problem of balanced interaction between the Russian and Kyrgyz languages in a multi-ethnic society, as well as the prospects for the Russian language as one of the factors in the development of economic, cultural and educational ties of Kyrgyzstan within the framework of modern integration projects, the formation of a competitive human resources potential of the country and the preservation of intercultural harmony in it. Following the conference, its participants will adopt a resolution.
The Russian language became widespread on the territory of modern Kyrgyzstan from the middle of the 19th century, becoming a conductor of the values of world culture into the mentality and consciousness of the Kyrgyz people, as well as an effective tool for the scientific description of the Kyrgyz language, which marked the beginning of the process of its codification. Currently, the Russian language in Kyrgyzstan has been given official status.
The event will be organized by the Institute of Russian Language of the KRSU, whose mission is to promote the idea of preserving the Russian language as an enduring value of the Kyrgyz people, the development of bilingualism, as well as educational and methodological support for Russian-language education in the Kyrgyz Republic.
