Yeltsin from March 21 to April 15 2024 conducts a competition of book trailers for any of the works of Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol (1809 – 1852), dedicated to the 215th anniversary of the great writer of Russian and world literature
Book trailer – a short video telling in free artistic form about a book (work). By analogy with a film trailer, the book trailer in a short video gives an idea of the content of the work, the plot, the characters, and also draws attention to its artistic merits. In essence, the book trailer is a visual embodiment of the annotation, reflecting the atmosphere of the work. This is a genre of advertising and illustrative nature, combining literature, visual art, electronic and Internet technologies. The purpose of the book trailer is – to tell about the book, to interest and not leave the future reader indifferent, to attract his attention to the storyline and characters of the work of art; convince to buy or download a book.
When creating a book trailer, you can use videos, illustrations, photographs, book covers, quotes from the author, etc.
Goals and objectives of the competition <TAG1>to draw the attention of Kyrgyz schoolchildren to the works of N.V. Gogol as a brilliant master of the poetic word, who created great works that captivate with the depth and truthfulness of their images, the power of creative generalization of life, artistic perfection; introduce children to high literature through such a type of modern presentation of the work of art itself as a book trailer. All this should help support the introduction to reading, to creative understanding of literary works, to a broader view of life, fate, in general – to high things, etc.
Schoolchildren in grades 8-11 of secondary schools of the Kyrgyz Republic with Russian, Kyrgyz, and Uzbek languages of instruction are invited to participate in the event.
Participants should submit to the competition a book trailer for any of N.V. Gogol’s favorite works.
Conditions for participation in the competition:
- book trailers are accepted only in Russian;
- the work should be exclusively individual (not collective);
- book trailers can be created with any available video devices (camera mobile phone, smartphone, digital camera, tablet computer, professional or amateur video camera);
- the book trailer should be in MP4 format with pixels resolution 1920x1080 or 1280x720;
- timing – 1-3 minutes;
- no more than three entries may be submitted to the competition by one school;
- the file names should be written in the following format: last name_Gogol (for example: Mammadov_Gogol);
- at the beginning of the book trailer, the following information must be provided in text format: Full name of the participant, class, educational institution, locality, region of the republic and title of the book (work).
Mandatory requirement – full compliance with all conditions
participation in the competition.
The completed one must be attached to the work participant questionnaire.
Book trailers are accepted from 21 March to 15 April 2024. by email: center_russ@mail.ru.
Criteria for evaluating competitive works:
• topic disclosure;
• originality of the concept;
• artistic expressiveness of the work (definition, expressiveness of speech);
• correct use of multimedia content (ethics and aesthetics of presentation of material);
• features of the technical implementation of the work; creativity of presenting the work: original video sequence, presentation, sound, information content.
The book trailer must be the author's development of the competition participant.
Based on the results of the competition, three prizes will be determined. The winners will be awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.
Teachers who prepare the winners of the competition are awarded a letter of gratitude.
Also, by decision of the jury members, only the most interesting works will be awarded certificates.
The document will not be sent to all competition participants.
