Competition for young diplomats of the EAEU
Information and Analytical Center «Eurasia-Volga Region» and Department of Regional Studies of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov, with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund of the Russian Federation, within the framework of the project «Youth Eurasian Track: Partnership, Development and Innovation in Modern Diplomacy» is holding an essay/presentation competition for young diplomats in the EAEU space for participation in the International Youth School «Eurasian Diplomatic Week – 2020» in Nur-Sultan (November 2020).
The objectives of the competition are
– involving young people in the integration process;
– harmonization of relationships among young people in the EAEU space;
– intensifying interaction between the youth of the EAEU member countries and the most promising potential members – of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in the humanitarian sphere;
– improving the quality of analytics, mastering modern methods of working with information and analytical resources, forming horizontal and vertical network connections of future diplomats in the Eurasian space.
Who can take part?
–Young professionals in international relations, politics, law, economics;
– Senior students, postgraduate students in specialized faculties;
– Activists of public non-profit organizations interested in integration processes in the Eurasian space.
Essay/presentation design requirements: project in presentation format (Power Point) or essay on the following topics (one to choose from):
1. Prospects for the expansion of the EAEU
2. Problems of legal regulation in the EAEU space
3. Public diplomacy in the EAEU space
4. Formation of Eurasian identity among the younger generation
5. Prospects for the development of Eurasian branding and image
6. Comparative analysis of EEA-EU interaction with business communities
7. Development of international relations in the modern world
Volume of material <TAG1> 4-8 pages (for essays), 20-22 slides (for presentation), Times New Roman font, font size – 14, line spacing — 1.15; surname, author's initials and title in bold center.
Stages:
1. Selection of the semi-finalists of the competition based on the results of the best essays/presentations
2. Participation of semi-finalists in online debates of young international students of leading universities
3. Skype interviews with semi-finalists and selection of finalists
4. A series of educational webinars for the finalists of the competition
5. Participation in the International Youth School «Eurasian Diplomatic Week 2020» in Nur-Sultan (November 2020) with payment of air travel, accommodation and meals at the expense of the organizers
Geography of participants: Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Tajikistan.
Working language: russian.
