Competition for students «Language and culture of the 21st century»

On April 20, 2022, the Faculty of International Relations of KRSU will host a competition of student scientific works «Language and Culture of the 21st Century» dedicated to International Chinese Language Day. Organizers of the event – Department of World Languages and Center for Chinese Language and Culture of KRSU.

 

Students of the specialty «Translation and Translation Studies» (specialization «Linguistic support of interstate relations») with the Chinese language will take part in the competition.
 

The purpose of the competition to give students the opportunity to present the results of their work, gain experience speaking to an audience and publicly discussing scientific results.

 

The event will be attended by Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Li Baojie, Head of the Political Department of the Chinese Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Zhang Zhenfeng, Attache of the Chinese Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Zhong Yibei, representatives of the Department of Innovation in Education and Science of the KRSU, as well as university teachers and students.

 

The event will be opened by KRSU Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Professor Valery Lelevkin.

 

Format of participation oral presentation on the topic of the study (no more than 20 minutes per speech and discussion). Competition entries can be submitted in Russian or Chinese. Works that have passed the anti-plagiarism test in the KRSU Anti-Plagiarism system will be admitted to the competition

 

Based on the results of the competition, the winners will be awarded certificates of participation or diplomas of the winner indicating the theme of the competition work, as well as valuable prizes. The works of the competition winners will be recommended for publication or participation in interuniversity competitions.
 

To evaluate scientific works, a competition commission will be formed from among teachers of the Department of World Languages, with the involvement of expert practitioners in the field of Chinese language, translation and intercultural communication.
