Student research competition – 2020

Take part in Student Research Competition (NIRS) any student or graduate of 2020 of a Russian and foreign university can. You must submit your work from September 1 to October 15. The competition has been held at the Higher School of Economics since 2003.

About the application and awards

Research work is submitted electronically on the competition website. It is checked online, so you can take part in the competition without coming to Moscow. You can familiarize yourself with the rules, special requirements and design recommendations, as well as submit a work here.

In each direction, except mathematics, there are two nominations: for bachelors and for master's students and graduates of 2020. Work checks are carried out anonymously by experts in each area with the exception of mathematics work.

The results of the competition are planned to be announced in December 2020, they will be posted on the official one page NIRS.

The winners and laureates of the competition are awarded diplomas. Support for winners is also provided to facilitate further academic development:

• Additional points to the portfolio for admission to some master's programs;
• Points for an application for an increased state academic scholarship;
• Facilitation of participation in scientific events around the world (for HSE affiliated winners only).
