From April 2 to April 23, 2021, the Russian Language Institute of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B. Yeltsin invites students of the 7th – 11th grades of secondary schools of the Kyrgyz Republic with Russian and Kyrgyz languages of instruction to take part in a presentation competition «Favorite books familiar pages». The competition is dedicated to World Book and Copyright Day, celebrated annually on April 23.
Book – is a source of knowledge, a teacher, an adviser and a friend, an invaluable legacy that previous generations left us. It is simply impossible to imagine life without reading; each of us necessarily has a book that he is ready to constantly re-read, learning about the world and finding answers to questions. We invite competition participants to talk about their favorite works from the school course of Russian literature, or about fiction books that are read independently in Russian.
Goals and objectives of the competition: increasing students' interest in studying Russian literature and literature in Russian, developing students' independent research skills, developing creative abilities when making presentations, consolidating and deepening skills in using MS Office PowerPoint.
The procedure for holding the competition:
- The competition is held in a remote format from April 2 to April 23, 2021.
- Individual/group participation in the competition is possible. The team of authors should not exceed 3 students from the same class.
- Presentation text language – Russian.
- The presentation presents one work from a school course «Russian Literature» or a literary work translated into Russian.
- The presentation is accompanied by a questionnaire from the participant (s) to be completed and sent with the presentation (questionnaire form –see bottom of page) to center_russ@mail.en
- Works for the competition are accepted until April 20, 2021.
- The competition results will be announced on April 23, 2021.
Criteria for evaluating competitive works:
- matching the presentation theme to the competition theme;
- creative approach to revealing the presentation topic;
- presentation logic;
- the text of the presentation is literate;
- independence of conclusions (relations) of the author (s);
- selection and quality of illustrative material (photos, reproductions of paintings, etc.);
- completion of work;
- availability of links to used literature and Internet resources (last slide).
Technical requirements for presentations:
The presentation must be made in MS Office PowerPoint. Competition works completed in other programs and formats are not allowed to participate in the competition. The presentation should not contain video clips or sound files.
The first slide of the presentation indicates: topic, name of the educational institution, city (village), class and surname (s) of the participant (s); surname, first name, patronymic of the teacher. The presentation volume should not exceed 25 slides.
The presentation is performed by the participant/group of competition participants independently. The use of ready-made presentations from the Internet is not allowed.
Based on the results of the competition, on April 23, 2021, the jury will determine the winners.
All competition participants will receive electronic certificates. Teachers who supervised the work of students will be issued electronic diplomas.
