Drawing Competition «My Happy Day» (September 26 – November 1, 2022)

Dear foreign students and citizens studying Russian as a foreign language! 

From September 26 to November 1, 2022, the Institute of Russian Language named after. A.O. Orusbaev Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. First President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin holds a drawing competition «My Happy Day».  

The aims and objectives of the competition are

• development of Russian written language by foreign students;
• popularization of the Russian word through the creative activities of foreign citizens;
• motivation to use the Russian language in creative activities.

Conditions for participation in the drawing competition «My lucky day»

To participate in the competition, you need to create a drawing and description for it in Russian.

In the picture you can depict a moment or situation in your life when you were happy about something or felt happy.

Drawings are done in the following techniques: colored pencils, watercolors, gouache, mixed media. Each participant submits 1 work of size A3 to the competition in digital format.JPEG, .PNG (photo must be high resolution, at least 1500 widepx, at least 2000 highpx). 

The description of the drawing must be made in Russian in a separate file, in format MS Word, font 14 pt, interval 1.5. The volume of the description text must be at least 150 words. The text of the description should be a statement of the plot of your drawing, its design, color design, description of details and style.

The work will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

1. Figure evaluation criteria:

– matching the drawing with the competition theme;

– originality of design;

– artistic skill (technique and quality of work).

2. Criteria for evaluating the description of the figure;

– matching written text to image;

– completeness of the image’s content;

– text literacy (stylistic, spelling, punctuation);

– the logic of the material in the text;

– vocabulary completeness.

It is not allowed to redraw existing drawings or copy other people's texts (drawings and texts will be checked through a special program).  

Creative written works are performed individually in Russian.  

Participants guarantee that only original works will be submitted to the competition. If plagiarism is detected, the participant is excluded from the list of contestants.

Each participant fills out questionnaire and sends it along with the competition work (drawing and file with description of the drawing) to the email address troshchenko.lara@list.ru  until November 1, 2022.  Questionnaires are accepted in format only MS Word. Photo forms are not accepted.  Works that do not meet the design requirements and were sent without a questionnaire are not considered.

We kindly ask you to send drawings as soon as they are ready, without waiting for the end of the program.

The winners of the competition are awarded diplomas, all participants will receive electronic certificates.
