On November 18, a round table will be held at KRSU «170 years together: to the history of the Issyk-Kul Kyrgyz taking Russian citizenship». The organizers are the Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan diocese of the Central Asian Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church, KRSU and «Museum-Estate of P.P. Semenov-Tyan-Shansky».
The event will be held in person and mixed format at: g. Bishkek, st. Kyiv, 44, room 212. Time — 10 am to 2 pm (registration of participants will begin at 9:30).
The round table will cover key topics in common Kyrgyz-Russian history: the process of entry of Kyrgyz tribes into the Russian Empire, events and diplomatic contacts of the mid-19th century, interaction between the peoples of Central Asia in the 19th – 20th centuries, as well as modern understanding of the common historical heritage.
The opening will begin with the presentation of a historical and documentary exhibition «Tien Shan by artist Pavel Kosharov». Representatives of government bodies, Russian and Kyrgyz scientific institutions, the academic community and expert organizations are invited to participate.
Based on the results of the event, it is planned to publish a collection of materials (RSCI). Articles for publication will be accepted until November 30, 2025.
