Round table «170 years together: on the history of the Issyk-Kul Kyrgyz taking Russian citizenship»

18 November 2025 Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University holds Round table «170 years together: on the history of the Issyk-Kul Kyrgyz taking Russian citizenship».

 

Event co-organizers — Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan Diocese of the Central Asian Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) and Museum-estate of P.P. Semenov-Tyan-Shansky.

 

The following topics are planned to be discussed at the Round Table:
– historical background and features of Kyrgyzstan’s entry into Russia;
– approaches and assessments of historical events in Central Asia in the second half of the 19th century;
– processes of co-development of the peoples of Central Asia in the 19th– 20th centuries;
– the significance of the common historical heritage of Kyrgyzstan and Russia in the modern context;
– formation of a positive public perception of the common historical past of the two countries.

Time: 10:00 – 13:00.

 

Based on the results of the Round Table, a publication is planned collection of materials.
