May 24 of this year at 11:00 (Bishkek time) at the Kyrgyz-Russian University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin will take place online round table «Cultural code and cognitive functions of the Turkic Cyrillic alphabet», dedicated to the Days of Slavic Literature and Culture.
During the event, participants – scientists, government and public figures of Kyrgyzstan and foreign countries – will discuss the role of the Turkic Cyrillic alphabet in the formation and development of national education, the prospects for the Cyrillic writing system in Kyrgyzstan, and will also highlight the experience of the transition of post-Soviet Turkic-speaking states to the Latin alphabet.
The event will be organized by the Russian Language Institute of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin, whose mission is to promote the idea of preserving the Russian language as an enduring value of the Kyrgyz people, the development of bilingualism, as well as educational and methodological support for Russian-language education in the Kyrgyz Republic.
