International scientific and practical conference XXX Moses Readings (March 24-25, 2022)

17 february 2022

On March 24-25, 2022, a conference will be held «Russia in the 21st century: education as an important civilizational institution for the development and formation of Russian cultural and historical identity». This conference is held in continuation of the discussion of the general scientific problem «Russia in the XXI I century: global challenges, risks and solutions», launched at the scientific forum held by the RAS Commission for the Study of the Scientific Heritage of Outstanding Scientists (2019), XXVIII and the XXIX Mosaic Readings (2020 and 2021) (See: <TAG1>buran-sas.en/).

During the discussions and in the scientific and practical recommendations of the mentioned forums, alarming trends were noted in Russian education: rejection of the best experience and traditions of domestic education, incl. Soviet period and blind imitation of Western standards; excessive administration and violation of the principle of autonomy of scientific and pedagogical activities; overload of teaching work to the detriment of scientific and educational activities, humiliatingly low remuneration of teaching work.

At the XXIX Moses Readings the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Russia in the 21st Century: The Great Patriotic War and Historical Memory» (2021) also pointed out the inadequate response of the domestic education system to global trends in distorting and revising the results of the Second World War and the post-war world order.

At the upcoming XXX Moses Readings (hereinafter referred to as the –conference), it is envisaged, from the standpoint of universal evolutionism N.N. Moiseev, discuss the following conceptual issues:

       <TAG1>what is the essence and orientation of education in Russia – to form consumers with a hedonistic attitude and the goal of life to receive only pleasure from it, or creators of their own destiny and creators of well-deserved success in life?

      <TAG1> distinctive features of domestic education in the conditions of civilizational confrontation between Russia and the West;

      <TAG1>what are the best traditions and experience of domestic education, incl. Soviet period, can be used in reforming Russian education and in the practice of scientific and pedagogical activities?

      <TAG1>what in domestic education is it advisable to counter with the negative consequences of digitalization and the Internet, which increase the risks of manipulating human consciousness?

      <TAG1>which domestic and foreign instruments for measuring the quality of education, science and youth education need to be used to:

      (a) To reduce the level of administration of the education process and to ensure the autonomy of scientific and pedagogical work;

      (b) To increase the motivation and efficiency of teaching and teaching work;

      <TAG1>why does the nomenclature of scientific specialties in which academic degrees are awarded in our country not meet the objectives of forming a modern scientific picture of the world?
