International creative competition of professional orientation «MediaDrive»

Department of Journalism and Basic Department of Television and Radio Journalism, Department of Media Communications North Caucasus Federal University is holding International creative competition of professional orientation «MediaDrive», dedicated to the 30th anniversary of journalistic education at NCFU

 

 

The International Creative Competition for Professional Orientation «MediaDrive» is aimed at promoting the importance of journalistic education in the modern world, developing professional competencies in the process of creating multimedia materials that raise topics important to society and are aimed at strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values, culture and historical memory.

Schoolchildren, students from Russia and foreign countries can take part in the competition.

 

 

Nominations of the Competition

1. My small homeland (projects dedicated to the history of the hometown/village/town/street, urban legends, attractions, routes to famous places).

2. Great names (projects dedicated to discoverers, inventors, scientists, cultural figures, writers, etc., changing the world for the better).

3. The story is in detail (projects dedicated to significant historical events, dates).

4. Hobbies and more (projects dedicated to hobbies, their history, benefits).

5. Family values (projects dedicated to the family: tell the story of your family, traditions, significant events).

6. About the important (projects dedicated to socially significant problems of our time).

7. Discovering the world (popular science projects, scientific research and its results, impact on human life, popularization of science).

8. World of professions (projects devoted to professions, their popularization, people who glorified the profession).

9. Sons of the Fatherland (projects dedicated to people who glorified their country on the battlefield. To people whose names will forever go down in history).

10. Special nomination #We're 30 (projects dedicated to the 30th anniversary of journalism education at the university).

 

Requirements for work

Work formats: multimedia history, multimedia guide, timeline, podcast, video material (information story, interview, video excursions, video), audio video (with song, poem, text), interactive illustration (photo/collage describing the event, hero, history, etc.). To prepare an original video, musical accompaniment, scenery, costumes, electronic presentations, etc. can be used.

 

Multimedia projects (multimedia history, multimedia guide, etc.) must be available via the active link specified in the competition application. At the end of the work, particulars shall be given about the author of the work, the director, cited sources (text, music and photographic materials, etc.).

Video format: MPEG4, AVI, horizontal shooting. Minimum video resolution – 1280x720 pixels. Duration – no more than 10 minutes. The video work (video) must end with captions containing information about the author of the work, the director, cited sources (text, music and photographic materials, etc.).

Audio works (audio video) – in WAV, MP3 formats. Total duration – no more than 10 minutes. Works must begin with the title, and also contain information about the author, director, and cited sources. Audio material must be copyrighted or licensed by Common Creative (from a library of free music for non-commercial use, freely distributed).

Required for all participants: all competitive media projects must contain information about the competition at the end: The media project was prepared within the framework of the International Competition «MediaDrive», NCFU, 2024.

 

Procedure for presenting media projects

Applications from participants and original media projects are accepted via the link https://forms.yandex.ru/u/66177fe7eb614600af8d7a6a/

In the application, the contestant (s) must indicate their real full name.

Contestants present a multimedia project, completed individually or as part of a creative team. One job is allowed from one person or creative team (no more than 5 people).

By sending work to participate in the project, the authors thereby confirm their copyright in this material.

Advertising materials, materials that offend the dignity and feelings of other people and do not reveal the theme of the Competition will not be accepted.

The works remain at the disposal of the organizers with the right of non-commercial use.

 

Applications from participants and original media projects are accepted until May 10, 2024 (inclusive). The results of the Competition will be announced no later than May 16, 2024 at the in-person final event.
