Youth program dedicated to Russian Language Day (April 27-June 6, 2022)

From April 27 to June 6, 2022, Institute of Russian Language named after. A.O. Orusbaev Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. First President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin is holding a youth program dedicated to International Russian Language Day. The program is being implemented as part of events dedicated to the Year of the Russian Language in the CIS countries (2023). 

 

Established in 2010 by the United Nations, Russian Language Day is celebrated annually on June 6 – the birthday of the founder of the Russian language, classic of Russian literature Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. This year, the world cultural community celebrates the 223rd anniversary of the birth of the great poet. In Kyrgyzstan, where Russian has official status, Pushkin’s works are widely known and are included in educational courses at schools and universities. The program provides young lovers of Pushkin's word with the opportunity to express their respect for the work of the genius of Russian literature and show their creative potential.

 

The programme's objectives and goals are supporting interest in learning the Russian language, developing reader taste and horizons, improving expressive reading skills, developing the creative abilities of young people.

 

Students of secondary schools with Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Russian languages of instruction, college and university students of the Kyrgyz Republic are invited to participate in the program events.

 

The program includes a set of activities implemented in a remote format.

 

Poetry online action «Reading Pushkin together»

 

Participants: students of 5-11th grades of schools, college and university students.

 

The event involves video recordings of expressive reading of poems (fragments of poems/poems) by A.S. Pushkin.

 

Video recording requirements: the work must correspond to the theme of the promotion and the age of the participant; the video recording is made in format MP4 with good sound and image quality; video recording duration – no more than 3 minutes; at the beginning of the video, information about the city (village) is provided; school and class; university and faculty; last name and first name of the participant (optional); The appearance of the readers must be neat.

 

The videos will be posted on the Facebook and Instagram accounts of the Russian Language Institute named after. A.O. Orusbaeva KRSU.

 

Essay competition «My Pushkin»

 

Participants: students in grades 8-11 of secondary schools, college students.

 

The contestants talk about their favorite Pushkin works, about how they got acquainted with the work of A.S. Pushkin; reflect on why Pushkin’s poetry and prose are close to the modern reader; as a memory of A.S. Pushkin remains in Kyrgyzstan.

 

Essay length – 1.5 to 3 pages of text typed on a computer. 

 

Assessment criteria: ability to independently reason, express thoughts, argue one’s position; logic of presentation; mastery of the norms of the Russian literary language; creative approach to completing the task.

 

Essay design requirements: font Times New Roman, pin 14, spacing 1.5; margin width – 2 cm (all sides); alignment of text along the width of the page; page numbering. The title page indicates: title of the essay, last name, first name of the participant, educational institution, class (course).

 

Works completed in the program are accepted for the competition Word, only in electronic format.

 

Drawing competition «In the wonderful Pushkin country»

 

Participants: students of grades 5-11 of secondary schools.

 

Illustration drawings for the works of A.S. are submitted to the competition. Pushkin.

 

The drawings are made using the following techniques: colored pencils, watercolor, gouache, mixed media. Each participant submits 1 work of size A3 to the competition in digital format (high resolution photo, preferably taken with a camera). 

 

Evaluation criteria: compliance of the drawing with the theme of the competition; originality of the concept; artistic skill (technique and quality of work execution); conformity creative level to the age of the author.

 

Redrawing or copying existing drawings is not allowed. 

 

Creative works are performed individually in Russian.  

 

Participants guarantee submission of original works to competitions. If plagiarism is detected, the participant is excluded from the list of contestants.

 

Each participant fills out questionnaire and sends it along with the competition work to an email address center_russ@mail.ru until June 1, 2022.  Completed questionnaires are not photographed. Works sent without a questionnaire are not considered.

 

We kindly ask you to send videos, essays and drawings as soon as they are ready, without waiting for the end of the program.

 

The winners of the competitions are awarded diplomas, all participants will receive electronic certificates.
