Online seminar «Russian language textbooks for schools with Kyrgyz as the language of instruction»
On March 29, 2021, the Institute of Russian Language of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin invites Russian language teachers from schools with the Kyrgyz language of instruction to take part in an online seminar «Russian language textbooks for schools with the Kyrgyz language of instruction: history, linguistic and methodological foundations, practice and results of their use».
The event experts will be the authors of new generation textbooks on the Russian language for schools with the Kyrgyz language of instruction (grades 5-6) Natalya Pavlovna Zadorozhnaya and Gulfira Kamilievna Tairova.
During the seminar, its participants will get acquainted with the concept of new textbooks on the Russian language as a non-native language, learn about modern requirements for the content, design and method of transmitting material, discuss methods and techniques for working with the textbook, as well as problems and prospects associated with its use in the educational process.
The problem of a textbook on the Russian language as a non-native language has been and remains one of the most pressing in the educational practice of modern Kyrgyzstan. In the context of a reduction in teaching hours in the Russian language and a narrowing of the Russian language environment, as well as in connection with changes in approaches to teaching stated in a number of state educational documents (the main task of teaching Russian as a non-native language in Kyrgyzstan was the formation of speech, linguistics and sociocultural competencies in students), immediate changes in the concept of the textbook itself were required. This process entailed the breakdown of traditional teachers’ ideas about methods and forms of teaching the Russian language and caused difficulties in working with the new book, the elimination of which requires outreach work.
The meeting will take place on March 29, 2021 at 14.00 on the ZOOM platform. Registration of participants will take place until March 27 (inclusive) by email institut_russ@mail.ru. At the end of the event, all participants will receive electronic certificates.
