Institute of Russian Language RUDN University and Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin is organizing an educational teleconference for students «Celebrating the holidays: Maslenitsa and Nooruz».
The event will take place on March 14, 2024 at 10:00 (Moscow time), Bishkek time – at 13.00, in a mixed format based on the Cabinet of Russian Words of the KRSU and in the Institute of Russian Language of the RUDN University.
Maslenitsa and Nooruz – favorite national holidays that are celebrated on a grand scale in Russia and Kyrgyzstan. Each of the holidays is not inferior to the other in breadth and entertainment, number of participants and fun.
The presence of fire as an important element of celebration can be seen in both holidays. This is – the ritual of burning an effigy of winter at the end of the Maslenitsa celebration among the Russians, lighting a fire and lighting torches from it, with which they walked around all the surrounding area, completing the holiday of spring renewal and the Nooruz equinox. The presence of fire is associated with the ritual of cleansing from everything bad and the desire for light and pure, new things.
Maslenitsa and Nooruz are harmonious in modern life and play a big role in strengthening stability, culture, friendship and harmony in a multinational society.
