Republican competition of dramatizations for the works of A.P. Chekhov, dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the writer’s birth

Institute of Russian Language named after A. Orusbaev Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. B.N. Yeltsin (IRYA KRSU) announces the holding of the Republican competition of dramatizations for the works of A.P. Chekhov, dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the writer’s birth (1860-1904) from April 25 to June 2, 2025. 

The purpose of the competition is — to promote the development and popularization of the Russian language in the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic as a language of interethnic and intercultural communication, as well as to increase the level of literacy and support the creative initiative of schoolchildren and students.

Participation is invited

− pupils in grades 8– 10 of general education schools in the Kyrgyz Republic;

− students of humanities faculties of universities in the Kyrgyz Republic and CIS countries.

Conditions for participation in the competition:

• Videos with dramatizations (game scenes) in Russian based on the works of A.P. are accepted. Chekhov.

• Both individual (monologues) and collective works (scenes) are allowed.

• Videos can be shot using any available video devices (smartphone, tablet, camera, etc.).

• Video format: MP4, resolution 1920x1080 or 1280x720.

• Video duration — no more than 8 minutes.

• No more than three works are allowed from one educational organization.

• The file name should be formatted in the format: Shkola_#number_name (for example: Shkola_#24_Chekhov, KRSU_Chekhov)

• At the beginning of the video, the following must be indicated: full name of the participants, class (rehc), educational institution, locality, region.

• Attached to the work participant questionnaire (questionnaires must be filled out for the performer of each role).

Works will be accepted until 24:00 on June 2, 2025.

Evaluation criteria:

• selection of the work;

• performance artistry;

• use of expressive means of speech (intonation, logical accents, tempo, timbre, emotional coloring);

• diction clarity;

• interaction between participants (game moments, working in a mini-group).

The results of the competition will be published on June 6, 2025

The winners of the competition (I, II, III degrees) will be awarded diplomas;
