«Rzhev Memorial: the story of the feat of a Soviet soldier»

An expert youth online conference «Rzhev Memorial: the story of the feat of a Soviet soldier» will be held on March 3, 2021 in Bishkek.
 

Event organizer – Foundation «Eurasians – new wave». The partner was the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.

The conference will be attended by students and teachers of KRSU, KSU named after. Arabaev, IUKR, representatives of public organizations, journalists and political figures of the Kyrgyz Republic.
 

During the conference, participants will try to study little-known pages of the history of the Great Patriotic War; Using the example of the Battle of Rzhev to explore the facts of the heroism of the Soviet soldier.
 

The event is held with the aim of instilling in young people a careful attitude towards historical experience, the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia and Kyrgyzstan, the lessons of the Great Patriotic War and veterans.
 

On March 3, 1943, Soviet troops entered the city of Rzhev, thereby ending the so-called «Battle of Rzhev» – one of the bloodiest and longest battles in the history of the Great Patriotic War.

In historical literature, battles in the area of the Rzhev-Vyazemsky salient are perceived only as assistance to the actions of Soviet troops at Stalingrad. But to talk only about helping Stalingrad – means to downplay the importance of the Battle of Rzhev, which, to a certain extent, influenced military operations in other sectors of the Soviet-German front and the course of the Second World War as a whole.
