June 19 at 10:00 at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. B.N. Yeltsin will host a round table «Returned names: on the issue of preserving the historical memory of the feat of the generation of winners».
The event is dedicated to preserving the memory of those who died in evacuation hospitals in the Sverdlovsk region and Kyrgyzstan during the Great Patriotic War.
As part of the visit of the delegation of the Sverdlovsk region, a series of events are planned (June 18–19) aimed at developing archival and search work and strengthening historical ties between the regions.
Programme of activities:
• Round table at KRSU – discussion of issues of perpetuating the memory of those killed in rear hospitals.
• Meeting with the management of the Archive Service of Kyrgyzstan (M.A. Alybaeva).
• Workshop for students of the school «Epsilon» on archival search.
• Presentation of the book «Names from rear hospitals» at Rossotrudnichestvo.
• Dialogue with students of the Kyrgyz National University.
The goal of the project is to organize a joint search for relatives of Red Army soldiers from Kyrgyzstan buried in the Urals, as well as to establish the fate of soldiers from the Sverdlovsk region who died in Kyrgyzstan.
«We plan to involve Kyrgyz search engines to clarify the lists of the dead, their burial places and install memorial signs», – emphasized the Minister of International Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region Vyacheslav Yarin.
The events will be held with the support of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Kyrgyz Republic and are aimed at strengthening historical and memorial cooperation between the two regions.
