Students and alumni

In the 2022-2023 academic year, more than 600 bachelors, specialists and masters - citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Russia - studied at the faculty in the direction «Jurisprudence» and specialty «Forensic Expertise». This year, 72 bachelors, 25 specialists and 45 masters successfully graduated from the faculty.

In 2023, 174 bachelor's and 101 master's degrees were enrolled in the faculty in the «Jurisprudence» stream, and 41 students in the «Forensic Science» major. The competition for budget places in the Russian Federation for bachelor's and master's degrees was 7 and 10 people, respectively.

During their studies, students combine theoretical training with practical training in structural divisions of a number of ministries, the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament), the Central Election Commission, the National Red Crescent Society of the Kyrgyz Republic, in courts, prosecutors, internal affairs, notaries and the legal profession, law firms as assistants lawyers, prosecutors, investigators, operatives, lawyers, notaries, court secretaries, consultants. Based on the results of internships, an average of 20-23% of students are employed annually, and in general in their specialty – up to 65-75% of graduates.

Students also receive practical skills at the Center for Clinical Legal Education, where up to 20% of 2-4 year students undergo internships annually on the basis of a competitive selection. The legal clinic, in addition to teaching practical skills, provides free legal assistance to vulnerable groups of the population through students, conducts explanatory work with high school students on crime prevention, and also actively participates in the actions of the National Red Crescent Society of the Kyrgyz Republic to provide humanitarian assistance to the population.

The faculty employs student government bodies - the Student Council, student course councils, as well as the Council of Young Scientists, which regularly hold scientific conferences, olympiads, competitions, brain rings, and quizzes. There are 7 student research circles, which allows more than 30% of students to be covered by research work annually.

Over the years of the existence of the Faculty of Law, over 3,500 bachelors, specialists, undergraduates, graduate students and doctoral students have graduated from it. The geography of distribution of graduates is quite diverse and is not limited to the borders of the Kyrgyz Republic. Graduates are in demand in government and commercial institutions of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, as well as other countries near and far abroad.

Among the successful graduates, one should name the current President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N. Japarov, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic D.D. Bekeshev, M.K. Aliyev, K. Sulaimanov, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic B.S. Orozov, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic U.T. Aitbaev, Chief of Staff of the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic Jamankulov M.T., General Director of LLC «Nur - Telecom» V.A. Slepokurov, Deputy General Director of the Law Corporation «Ho and K» E.A. Hegai and many others.

Our graduates also work successfully in the Russian Federation, in particular, Podkorytova O.V. is an adviser to the legal expertise department of the Secretariat of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States (g. St. Petersburg), Danilov V.A. – General Director of LLC «Eurasian Legal Association SENATOR» (G. Moscow), Limansky N.V. - Director for Legal Affairs of LLC «Instroytekhkom» (G. Moscow).

Law students repeatedly win grants to study at prestigious universities near and far abroad, participate in academic exchange programs with Russian leading universities – National Research University «Higher School of Economics», Siberian Federal University, etc.

Thus, in the autumn semester of 2023, 3rd year students took part in the semester exchange program of the Faculty of Law of the Research University «Higher School of Economics»:

  1. Kulatova Dayana, gr. U-5-21;
  2. Maksatova Meerim, gr. U-5-21;
  3. Sulkaidarova Begimai, gr. U-6-21;
  4. Tukebaeva Bilima, gr. Yu-1-21.

Students of the faculty not only study well, but also demonstrate significant professional competencies, becoming winners of competitions named after F. Jessup in international law, F. Martens in international humanitarian law and many others, held both within the republic and abroad. They also show high sports results at international Universiade, World and Asian Championships, and republican competitions.

Career guidance work

According to the plan for career guidance activities at the Faculty of Law:

in the autumn and spring semesters, the School of Law was constantly in operation, organized by the dean's office together with the departments and the Student Council of the faculty. During the 2022-2023 academic year, about 200 schoolchildren from Bishkek and suburban areas took an active part in the School of Law programs. As part of a joint visit with representatives of other faculties, the Faculty of Law visited secondary schools in the Chui region in February-May 2023 (Gg. Kara-Balta, Kant, p. Belovodskoe and s. Leninskoye), where teachers and students introduced high school students (up to 800 schoolchildren) to the areas of training and educational process at the Faculty of Law. Students of the Faculty of Law, together with project participants «Zhash muun 2023», carried out career guidance work with students (more than 300 schoolchildren) in the Osh region (Kara-Kuldzha district).

4th year students also participated:

  • at the Open Day for graduates of the Faculty of Law, organized by the State Agency for Civil Service and Local Self-Government under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of cooperation with the KRSU;
  • in meetings with representatives of employers organized by departments, including government agencies, professional legal organizations, and private entrepreneurs.
  • Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law of Altai State University, Ph.D. Zelenina Yu.A. within the framework of the project’s theme «Greater Altai» (November 2, 2022).
  • Chairman of the All-Russian Trade Union of Kozak Students on the topic of modern global challenges and the place of future lawyers in this process (December 12, 2022).
  • Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic T. Erkinov (faculty graduate) on the topic of opportunities for professional growth of young lawyers in government bodies and management.
