Meeting of participants of the Network of Academic Communities «Platform of Professional Practitioners – strengthening the network interaction of the Network of Academic Communities»

On April 26, 2023, in the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Tashkent, the next Meeting of participants of the Network of Academic Communities (CAS), which includes representatives of Central Asian universities – teachers working in the field of water resources, took place. 

Organizers of the meeting: USAID Regional Water and Environment Project with the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) in collaboration with the SDC Blue Peace project in Central Asia and the European Union «Central Asia Dialogue to Stimulate Cross-Sectoral Finance based on Interconnection –Water-Energy-Food«(WEP) (Phase II)». 

At the invitation of the Blue Peace Central Asia project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the head was invited to the meeting. caf. water resources and engineering disciplines, constantly participating in the work of the Central Asian CAS. 

Organizers and participants of the meeting from Central Asian countries: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan. 

Goals and objectives of the meeting –review and discussion of the content of training courses aimed at water cooperation (National Research University TIIMSKh, Tashkent; Kazakh-German University, Almaty); rational management of water resources (Kyrgyz Technical University, Bishkek; Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, Almaty); 

  • discussion of the development and content of training courses for undergraduates in thematic areas «Water diplomacy» and «Rational use of water resources» – format «The World cafe»; 

  • presentation of the results and plans of partners to develop work with the academic community and promote the community-of-practice platform (USAID Regional Water and Environment Project; Blue Peace SA; CAREC). 

Materials from developments and proposals discussed at the last meeting of the Academic Communities will be useful in drawing up work programs for disciplines on Federal State Educational Standard 3++: «Integrated water resources management» (3rd year), «Water management systems and water use» (3rd year), «Integrated reclamation, protection of territories, examination and land management» (3rd year), «Integrated use of water resources» (4th year) «Water, land and environmental law» (4th year).
