Project description:

The project is aimed at involving technogenic mineral formations and tailings of processing plants into economic circulation by extracting residual valuable components using modern hydrometallurgical technologies.

Many mining operations have accumulated millions of tons of waste in their tailings ponds, containing significant amounts of metals that previously could not be efficiently recovered by existing technologies. In the context of rising costs of raw materials and tightening environmental requirements, such facilities are becoming a promising source of additional resource base.

The proposed technology is based on selective extraction of metals using ion exchange materials and modern methods of hydrometallurgical processing. Unlike traditional pyrometallurgical processes, the technology is characterized by lower capital costs, high environmental friendliness and the ability to process poor raw materials.

The project allows you to simultaneously solve the problems of increasing the resource efficiency of enterprises and reducing the environmental load associated with accumulated mining waste.

Key technology solutions:

  • Hydrometallurgical processing of tailings;

  • Selective metal recovery;

  • Ion exchange technologies;

  • Closed water cycles;

  • Environmentally sound recycling schemes;

  • Processing of poor and difficult-to-enrich raw materials;

  • Integrated use of mineral resources.

Practical impact and results:

As a result of the introduction of technology, the enterprise receives an additional source of extraction of valuable metals from previously accumulated waste, reduces the load on tailings dumps and increases the overall efficiency of using mineral resources. An additional advantage is the improvement of the environmental performance of the enterprise.
