Project description:

The project is focused on the development and industrial implementation of energy-efficient technology for producing nitrided ferroalloys and special composite materials using the method of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis.

SHS technology is based on the use of internal energy of chemical reactions and makes it possible to obtain high-tech materials without the use of energy-intensive melting processes. Thanks to this, energy costs are significantly reduced and the environmental burden on production is reduced.

The project covers the production of a wide range of metallurgical materials that are in demand in the smelting of high-strength, corrosion-resistant and special steels. Additionally, the technology can be used to produce refractory materials and functional composites for metallurgy and mechanical engineering.

A special feature of the project is the possibility of creating production facilities of relatively small capacity, focused on the production of products with high added value.

Key technological solutions:

  • Self-propagating high temperature synthesis;

  • production of nitrided ferroalloys;

  • Preparation of metal nitrides;

  • Manufacture of refractory materials;

  • Energy-efficient synthesis technologies;

  • Creation of specialized metallurgical additives.

Practical effect and results:

The project ensures the production of in-demand metallurgical products with high added value, reduction of energy costs compared to traditional technologies and the creation of new study programs industrial production. An additional advantage is the ability to localize the release of materials that are currently predominantly imported.
